Commando S foot rests

Hi, can anybody confirm that the 1969 commando S had footrests and brake lever finished in satin chrome, David

Either? Parts book says, chrome, but it also depended on who the bike was originally ordered for Berliner or Canada. The late models would have been satin though.

Hi, thanks for your reply. The bike was sent to Australia so I've no idea what spec was ordered.. When you say the late models, what year are you thinking

My buddy's 1969 S has bright polished chrome. It's a one-owner purchased new from Bob Schanz at the old Sport Motors. It is my understanding that only the '68 fastbacks with the round tank badges received the "satin" chrome footpeg mounts, shifter, and kickstarter.

My 'S' is 1970 and has chrome footrests and brake lever. I cant say I have ever seen an 'S' type with satin finish on the footrests.
