Anybody could help me with the model from a Norton 1971, chassis: 150548 and engine: 20M3S150548? It was produced in 1971, Aug.

My take on the question is that he wants to know, based on the serial #, whether he has a Commando that was produced as a Roadster etc.

Ed

Yes, the OP contacted me by PM after my reply. The actual model has not, as yet, been identified but there could be pictures coming.

Either Andover Norton or the Norton Owners Club in England have factory records. I do have 151673 to 151703 which were all roadsters built Oct and Nov ‘71.

Any help? From Henshaws book.

Spegiorin has requested that the pictures should not be posted at this time because the bike hasn't been bought which is understandable.

:)
We have pictures!
Mikuni carbs (maybe from a 2-stroke twin?).

Mystery object? 20M3S not 20M3 so it shouldn't be a 'twin chain' engine?

Disc brake from a later model. Oil pressure gauge.

Two more pictures to follow.

It reminds me of the tourist in Ireland, who asks a local for directions to Dublin:
"well sir, I wouldn't start from here"...

A brave man to take that on.

It is scary just to look at those pictures!

Barge pole comes to mind. For the cost of doing that you could buy one that works, A brave man indeed.

One wonders how a bike could get that bad. I mean at some stage it must have breathed its last breath, it seems inconceivable it could have got any where near that state. Anyway, I think it would have to be broken up for parts. Who knows, it might have useful internal components.
Good luck to the new owner.

Easy fix with a bit of elbow grease lol anything can be saved just more of a challenge and money thrown at it and could become a good-looking bike in the right hands, love to take on something like that if it was given to me.
Might make a good RAT bike lol.

Good move! The plus side of buying a Norton in that condition, you can modify it your way and no one will give you hell for chopping up a nice Norton!!!

If it was stored with oil in it. The internals are probably ok as it went into self preservation mode. Wet Sumping.
