Is it the one with a square drive built into the chain case ?
Not sure, but he holds the motor in one hand when he fires it up. XRs never came with kickers, so it's likely they're set up for plug-in starters. You can see the crank stub in the pic I posted.

Brilliant! Matt should put this on the cNw website - best purchasing justification ever!

Does the CNW E-Starter require a larger capacity battery, or is the standard Pre-MK3 battery sufficient?

I’m using the Shorai LFX 21 as recommended by Matt, but I’m pretty sure the LFX 18 would also handle it easily. The 21 is bigger than the 18 but there is very little weight difference, so, as there is adequate space that I don’t use for anything else, I opted for the big ‘un.

CCA Cold Crank Amps is a better gauge of a good battery for starter motors than size, some large batteries have low CCA and are no good.

You no doubt understand all that electrickery stuff better than me Kommando. My understanding is that the amp hour claim of the Shorai’s is a bit Mickey Mouse (as Glen has explained before) but where they do indeed score highly is in their cranking amp performance.

Fast,

Those videos made my day....Thanks for posting

Your daughter's comments are priceless !!

Matt

Not the whole family... just my 8 year old daughter...!
LOL... But, the "Shut up!" exclamation seems to be in response to your daughter outing you to the whole family...priceless!

We have all been there. Just be happy there was no trailer from a remote location involved.

:)

The CNW starter kit is the best money I have ever spent!
Pleased to see it works so well on your hot rod
Mike
