Clutch plates, Surflex or non-Surflex?

Whilst I was browsing, as you do, I noticed Triumph clutch plates for sale, both Surflex or non-Surflex types.

I realise Surflex are Italian made - is there a difference to be aware of, ie is one preferred to another? Curiosity sake only for now, but it maybe useful knowledge.
 
So are Surflex a no-no if another brand is available at the same time and same price?
 
I had bother with Surflex plates slipping in a Triumph 650, whenever they got oily.

Not everyone has that trouble, apparently.
