Classic simultaneous torque hit wheelspin/wheelie

In Nov `83 Motorcyle Mechanics mag did an H2 retropective, including a dyno test,P.66;
"...1st run the bike on the LEDAR dyno to see whether all those stories of phenomenal power outputs were anything other than the bull we had always assumed them to be...being more sceptical than most, I went for 47 bhp. It would have been difficult to have been more wrong. The dyno recorded a maximum output of 65.4 bhp at 7,500 rpm..."
& "To put it in perspective, the H2 accelerated about as hard as a modern 750 4-stroke 4, which for a 10 year old bike, is not bad at all."

From Cycle Guide Nov`72, P.53; H2 test.
"But in a way you would expect the quickest to be the most spirited. This spirit was in further evidence during decibel meter readings.
The bike is ridden along a straight course in at 30 mph in 2nd gear, until reaching the meter, then the rider dials it in. As soon as the 750 hit 4,500rpm the rear end started breaking loose.
No other machine tested even hinted at doing this."

My last H2 (H2B, suppose to be weak..) was dynoed at 64.7 in -75... I am sure hobot will a P11 at 92.6!!!!!

Yeah, but I`ll bet that P!! had to spin to 9,000rpm to do it...
Rick Brett, [who has dyno`d many triples] - reckons that mid 60s rwhp mark is typical for a stock H2 in good nick.

If its the one we saw the photos and race report on , it would .

Covert Govt. recreational project on classified experimental development project .

What time ofyear did it dissapear steve , summer or winter ??? .

I believe it was detuned if running on pump gas . Was built for Nitro . No holds bared .

& where is your smoke trail emitted from, Matt? Fag end, ears, or manifold leaks? -L.O.L.

The only rational person I met with a R D in N Z , said it did 14.5 @ 90 . took his word for it . He wasnt from the big smoke , and it wasnt but minutes earlier .
The others were neurotic .
good for knitting about town , but a bit lost on the highway . A Vespas better for back alleys than a Vincent . So its a better motorcycle / to go to extremes .?

So, Matt, now you are admitting that a `70s overbored Nip 2T 250 was as quick as a traditional 'roadburner' sports 650 parallel twin, jeeze, that`d mean a sports 2T 750 triple would be a bit of a goer then, eh - certainly plenty enough to make you bottle out...

Right ? if we see i dipshit on a RD at the lights , were supposed to have a race ?
If we see a dipshit on a H2 were supposed to race him on a Katana .
if we see a rowdy flexiflyer and a race track , were supposed to get all excited .

Notice , The ROAD goes left , and right . what was he thinking .

although , even on a straight road . . .

If we see a Red Light , were supposed to floor the Throttle . Specially when theres a four wheel disc brake Alfa in front . :D Smart Move . 8)

Too bad there isn`t any video of your crashes Matt, but I `spose at least those guys were having a go...
& how much riding/crashing have you done in the past 1/4 century anyhow, eh, Matt? , -other than Shank`s Pony of course...

When I was racing in 1973 RD350s were like backsides - everybody had one. They were my main competition while I was racing the short stroke 500cc Triton. They were are really good bike for beginners. The ones full of TZ parts and methanol were a bit of a problem.

Those RD's were OK, I guess.
for me though, I could never get past the sound they made.
2 strokes were for the dirt - 4 strokes were for the pavement.

Back then..... those H2's hurt a lot of people. If it wasn't the powerband kicking in and throwing the rider off the back of the bike,
it was the death wobble pitching them off the front.

The ones full of TZ parts and methanol were a bit of a problem.

How about the Riders ? there mustve been some mighty pile ups ??

Bugger . .

Classic simultaneous torque hit wheelspin/wheelie

I shouldve got a RD . :p :D

From Cycle Oct `74, H2 Test;
"As a matter of fact you can have a lot of fun with several of the H2's features - particular emphasis being on the machine's performance.
The big triple may use too much gasoline in getting where you want to go, but it will get there faster than any other production machine on the road.
Even when you aren`t using the performance, you can ride around with an inner smirk, knowing that the bike under you is the undisputed King of the the tyre lighters. It may be a king who`s a little out of touch with the times : it rules for all of that."

Untill you chuck the original plastic tyres , and it starts woobling and weaveing , and either bogs down or flips .
