Hello everyone,
I usually do not this but I have not choise and have to warn You all. Hands off from CBM
http://www.classicbritishmotorcycles.com/
I ordered parts for my Norton from them costed about 370$ and payed using paypal. Monthes of promises and absurd reasons and I did not get ANYTHING. I hate this. So..be carefull.

This would appear to be a way of buying Indian-made spares direct from the manufacturer's cousin's father's business associate in the back streets of Birmingham (Sparkbrook might be a reasonable guess).

If you payed by PayPal then you should let them know about it and they will chase it up and if they didn't deliver Paypal should refund your money and they will chase the supplier and its the way PayPal was set up for, but things do change, I know a friend who had a bad dealing with a supplier and PayPal refund his money and took the supplier on.

Problem is in time. I waited very long time with patience. My english is not very good and I have only a little experiences with international shopping. I tried to answer paypal on some contact email but withou reason. Then I lost trust that I can do somethning with it. Until yesterday, one member on our czech forum advised me to start claim through resulution center on paypal. I tryed it but case was stopped immediately. I send money 21.2.2013 so it is more than Year. Maybe this is problem.
I do not believe to get my money back any more but hopefully this will be warning for another classic bikers.

No, I did not. Only emailed them many times and they were answered until I asked money back. My english is not on level that I can make deal by phone.

I hope you can find a way to make this problem right. In the future, you might try shopping directly from Andover Norton's Webshop, as you can select stock parts directly from blow-up pictures and put them in your cart. Or you could correspond with Mick Hemmings Motorcycles by FAX. Here in the US we have Old Britts which also has a very nice web site for ordering from.

There are others, but Andover Norton and Old Britts are very easy to order from without the need for conversational English skills.

Than You, I know Andover very well. I think best eshop for commando parts in europe. CBM offered much more better prices and me stupid believed them. So I will stay faithfull to Andover forever.

Unfortunately, it is noticeable over the last few years that some of the Indian manufacturers / sellers have become aware of their often poor reputation for quality control and delivery and they have set up sales outposts in the UK. This has probably affected Commandos less than the older machines of the types which were numerous in India. It's always going to be a risk dealing with them.

The owner of Andover Norton (who posts regularly here) also has an operation near München. If you need a lot, it might even be worth taking a drive over.

It might be well worth finding someone who can telephone for you and put them on the spot,it might also be interesting what accent you get on the other end going by other posts in the thread.
It is supposed to be a UK based company ?

Have you tried working with the credit card company or bank you used to fund your paypal account with? They often will support you. You may have your paypal account temporarily suspended and eventually closed as a result of their investigation, but you should get your funds back if the merchant cannot prove that they delivered the goods/service.

Best of luck

Thank You all for support and ideas to solve the problem. I will ask my bank that I use for top up my paypal acount. Paypal supports only for 45 days - I did not know it before - my big mistake. And now I see that this 45 days and a little bit more was time that CBM communicated with me and explained me their problems why they are not able to send me my parts (at first supplies from subcontractors, at the end fire in their office). Than they knew that I do not have simple way to get my money back.

An internet search comes up with absolutely no address or names connected with this business. The business name of course brings up so many responses that it's impossible to search properly.

I wonder if anyone has ever sent them valuable parts for restoration ?

"If you have a parts needing repaired such as petrol tanks, engine, gearbox, wheels, re-chromed, re-painted or a complete engine, gearbox overhaul , or a fully restoration of you machine them please contact us for a quote.

This cannot have been written by anyone whose first language is English and it begs the question whether there really is a UK operation beyond a re-directed telephone number ?
