Hi All,

I like browsing the interweb looking at various bikes specifically Nortons and triumphs, but have found that I cant see any on the ebay US sight,(this has been the case for a while ) and now I cant see any on the ebay UK site. this is most annoying as I like drooling over the bikes as we dont see many listed here in NZ.
Does anyone one know why this is the case ? I'm in NZ, have brought and sold on both ebay US/UK so dont know why I can't see these bikes.. the search just come up with 0 nortons shown after searching in the norton drop down column of motorcycles .
I have not changed any settings on my laptop.

Any suggestions apprecated, I need my Norton fix ! :p

"Your wife has you blocked! LOL I can see them!"
That's funny, made me think of this....

Can't see motorcycles on ebay ?

Ebay lockout overseas viewers [IP address] from seeing listings that are not worded as being able to export, it has been this way for a while therefor I do not bother to use or search Ebay.

Now now fella’s……… guilty as charged !!! , possm I think you may be right , it’s a nusiance tho , norton commandos are very hard to come by in NZ unless your in the know and have heaps of $$

Try going to the local ebay site eg .co.uk or .com and signin, doing this I can view items that show as UK or US shipping only but I did setup accounts a long time ago.

Hi Kommando tried this , apparently they have blocked any bikes that are not avalible for wordwide shipping.....Which is most of them .

Cheers

You setup a VPN (virtual private network) to hide your local IP addy or see if your anti virus package has a "private" browsing mode. I think my BitDefender package has that on my P C.

A little peripheral to the topic of E-Bay, but I have noticed Craigslist doesn't have much movement from week to week. A search in Motorcycle parts, or Motorcycles just throws up the same ads on there for ages, there are very rarely new postings even in largely populated areas like Los Angeles or The Bay Area. Is Craigslist not very popular among buyers and sellers?

It's all on Fakebook Marketplace now.
Those of us without a social media "feed" are left behind in the analog age. 😞

To me, Craigslist was a big deal at one time, but an "also ran" now. Never look there for anything.

Greg, I live in Hong Kong, I have friends and relatives in the US and for me the geographical specificity of Craigslist is helpful if I see something near to where one of my contacts live. I bought an incomplete Matchless G9 for $300 about a year ago and a set of Commando crank cases and some other parts for $100 so I feel I've done well out of it so far.

There are "use cases" for everything and it sounds right for you. I can see where eBay might not work well for you.

In my case, every bike I've bought this century has been sight unseen and shipped so I don't care much where they are in the US. Most have been purchased through eBay, and I buy parts there at least once a month. Don't get me wrong - eBay annoys me a lot but it also helps me a lot. Most of the bikes I sell are sold sight unseen and are shipped so posting on Craigslist would not help me. eBay annoyed me as a seller a few years ago so I don't sell there now.

Greg, I sometimes buy on E-Bay also, but get friends to bid as otherwise someone with an overseas location, especially in Asia, is often viewed with some degree of suspicion and blocked from bidding. I must say that E-Bay is also not what it used to be with with quite a lot of dodgy looking parts and at high prices. I've recently been looking for a standard Commando Roadster seat and the prices for some real rubbish is more expensive than what I can get a new one for from a couple of British suppliers.
