Cam chain tensioner nut: which tool?

What is the recommended tool for tightening/loosening the two cam chain tensioner nuts, that are so close together?

Box spanner or a turned down socket .

Found what I think is a good solution
Use a reduced hex 5/16" nut, similar to front corner nuts on barrel (uses 1/4 BS ring spanner instead of normal nut requiring 5/16 BS)
"normal" 5/16 nuts leave almost no room for any type of spanner.
I've seen photos of allen bolts but this has the inherent problem of potentially wearing out the alloy threads in the crankcase. Better to wear out replaceable studs.

I have ever tool in my workshop for anything on Nortons or any other bikes I own and a good set of tube spanners work just right for your needs, I have also machined down sockets to fit close fitting nuts etc, but the tube spanners work great, I still use the set I brought over 40 years ago.

Any tool supply shop should have them, a good set don't cost that much and they always come in handy for other jobs.

On early bikes with cycle thread the reduced nuts are .442" 1/4bs, I use 3/8 or 1/4 drive socket
OT commando is UNF stud with reduced nuts (like alternator nuts) use .4375 7/16 socket
