BSA A10

When I rebuilt my MK3 in 2013 I had no title. The police came and checked it out and looked at he frame number engine number and G/B number. The numbers did not match G/B and Engine. So they were not going to help me get the title until some major persuasion. After spending so much money, I cant get to the end of it and have problems. Besides that I am not ready for doing another rebuild yet. And on another note, I am thinking about getting something Italian in the garage instead. Before all that I have to sort my garage out next. I need an insulated garage door and a decent heater.
Ah, bureaucracy, not so bad here, I registered an A65 this year with odd numbers, The owners club sent me dates for the engine and the frame and the DVLA accepted the info.

I guess they realise a lot can happen to a bike in 50 years.

This time of year here I leave a little heater and a dehumidifier on in the garage, I have to empty the dehumidifier every two days, over a gallon each time. I no longer get any condensation on any machines or cases now.

Future value.

This doesn’t matter to some, does to others.

If contemplating embarking on a very expensive full restoration it’s certainly something to at least be aware of. The restoration costs aren’t any lower for a none matching numbers bike after all.
I am one of those in the it doesn't matter camp. I would rather have a good mis matched bike than a matching Friday afternoon bike. I see there are different problems for Jerry though.

I just kind of changed my mind overnight. My friend bought a really cool little moto Moroni that’s rideable, I got to thinking, I really ache like f**ck these days and rebuilding another bike is not going to help my situation. Knowing me I would spend 10k plus on it and that’s hard to come by right now. Around here folks drive like lunatics and an A10 might not be quite how I remembered it from a safety perspective and riding the way I do. I watched a few you tubes vids and it reminded me. Now if I was in England it would be a different story due to the countryside. I think would rather go buy something else to ride than build right now. Like an old Guzzi or Something Or just be satisfied with what I got... lol

thats my story and I am sticking to it lol ;)

Big change of plan. Now am getting an A10, but a different one with a title. DA10 R 3502. Details later. I couldn’t help myself, excited. Happy Christmas, cheers

Update:

After huge support from the mrs (love her to bits), I decided to go look at the A10 mentioned at the beginning of the thread. It turned out the owner had another A10 for sale with a title. It was already stripped down mostly all there and has a later motor. I decided to get this one instead for a little bit more $ I still need to look into which bike/ year the motor is from. I think DA10 R 3502 might have been a Road Rocket. We are going to complete the deal after the Holidays and I will get started on it as soon as I can find a decent garage heater. I am probably going to have to insulate the garage door too. Colder than a witches tit here... So exciting stuff. I will start a rebuild thread, stay tuned...

I can't afford a fancy GoPro like Dave has, but here is a phone recording of the Super Rocket out for a fun ride. Please excuse the wind noise and limited but blurry view.
Still, a good teaser I think.

If you were just building g a rider it might be ok but knowing what you’ll do to the bike it will be an immaculate restoration. Start with a complete bike.

If you’re going to do an A10 then look for something like a Road Rocket.
Why would a Road Rocket be preferable to a Super Rocket?
