A tale once heard from a Renold Tube Gentleman as we discussed sticking my replica Domirace frames together (17g 4130 tube ). The Norton race team manager Joe Craig once had one of those experts (spelt exspurt tell him that he should be having his factory team frames nickle bronze brazed rather tan Sifr Bronze No1 welded. Renold were instructed to nickle bronze braze the next years factory race team frames. During the race season they all broke and the following year the frames were once again being Sif Bronze No 1 welded........ Of course had Mr Craig bothered to ask Renold for advice he would of been advised to continue with Sif bronze no1 welding......but he didnt.... Renold were more than happy to offer advice to customers based on their many years of experience IF and I repeat IF it was requested but believed in the age old principle that the customer was always right and if that is what the customer orders ....
