Recently I was out on my Trusty T140 when it suddenly developed some quite bad running symptoms, missing, 8 stroking, etc. So I headed home, but things began to clear up and by the time I got home it was running fine again.
I couldn’t find anything obviously wrong, so fitted some new plugs and left it at that. Then yesterday I noticed one of those shitty feeble carb to airbox sponge seals was missing, it wasn’t inside the airbox either.
I’m now thinking that it split, and then got ingested causing the poor running until it got sucked in and consumed! The remaining seal was also almost split, the glue just hanging on a last 1mm or so.
In amongst my stash of carbs I found some much stouter firm rubber versions of the carb to airbox seal and fitted those, they ain’t going nowhere !
So, a couple of questions:
Has anyone else suffered this? The foam seals really are quite feeble things.
Does anyone know where I can buy more of the firmer rubber ones ??
