Best use for Atlas engine…

Back to the OP, but the Aprillia might just be why TVS have decided to knock the Atlas on the head for the time being. Now just where did one of the new directors work in the past, maybe he has something better than both up his sleeve.

Personally I wouldn't want someone pissing on any of my bikes. I wouldn't piss on any one's
anything. Not even a Chinese bike. Let alone criticize someone's ride....As long as You are in the wind,
my friends, with Your knees in the breeze, what You ride is Your choice, what I ride is mine. If You were to look in my buildings, You would see I'm not a motorcycle brand snob by any stretch. Reckon there's always
gonna be haters in this big 'ol world though, tryin' to take Ya down bummer street.

Fantic motor (I recall their trials bikes here in the states, always lusted after one) is making
the 'Caballero', kind of bad-ass looking, I did some brief reading on it, and the history with
SWM, BMW, Husqvarna, conglomerated in some cases, assembled here, there, but many
going with a Chinese motor, as is the Fantic. An observation of it to me is another example
of how diversified in the global market they want to be, and have become.....

They worked at the engine design outfit that have both Norton and Aprilia as customers, funny how both have V4's with orphan twins based on the front 2 cylinders.

Reckon the number of bikes produced equipped with that design makes for easy and plentiful parts availability when eventually, (inevitably ?) needed ? Perhaps not these days as it seems everything that shouldn't "normally" have issues getting to end-user consumers does; and is blamed on the virus. Personally though,I have had few delays on anything I've purchased on the interweb, I must say.
Mainly, but not always, something needed due to my vehicle addictions. Those of us riding the number of years we have are witnessing, in my old broke down opinion, quite the evolution in design not only in motorcycles, but anything that utilizes the internal combustion engine. Electric- bikes, cars,trucks, etc. looming large...like it or not ?

To return to topic we have a perfectly good (if a little heavy) frame with the 961 so supercharge the 650 engine with a nice little Rotrex supercharger and bung it in. Admittedly it doesn't look as right as the 961 lump so add a smart 'retro' fairing, like so many people have expressed an interest in, to cover up the unpleasantness. I would be most interested to know the details of 'Type Approval' and what a manufacturer has to do if they change parts of the design.....

I've always like Harleys'. You can't spit around these parts without hitting a Harley dealership. EVERYBODYS GOT ONE. (what is so cool about that??) Most people I know go forever without a problem. I have two trumpets and that sorry excuse of a bike, the 961. Distance between failure is ....well....most summers. So yea, i miss out on some rides. That said, I don't want a 900 pound bike just to ride a few hundred miles per week. I don't do cross country and Sturgis. I've had my T140 since new and would never get rid of it. I'm loving the damned 961 too if I had easy access to parts and service. They are damned good bikes. Maybe I'll get one when I grow up.
