That's why I sat in the back of the rented mini-van in Freeport. 3' more crush zone.I am currently on holiday in the Dominican Republic. Traffic here is unbelievable, cars, trucks, busses, and LOTS of small displacement bikes and scooters. Many of them running on the sandy shoulders of the road at night with no lights. No way in hell I would consider riding or driving a car here. Despite it all though there seems to be a rythym to it and an understanding of how it all should go. Driver training and respect has everything to do with it. Go out into the countryside and you still see people riding donkeys. Given the options I guess you swim or sink.
