Bastard bottom mounting bolt leak

Gday All,

Just finished a resto on my 73 750. Breather mod, cleaned all the faces that seal and thought i would have the oil leaks sorted. Can you imagine the dissappointment when you work out the leak that leaves puddles on the floor comes from the oil tank mount. Knowing what i know now, is there a short term solution to fixing it. Obviously the weld job is the best idea but i need to ride it after 4 months of not. Let me know.

JB Weld (epoxy) might work for a little while...

You would have to take the tank off, drain and clean it to apply JB. You might as well have it welded or brazed and be done. I doubt there is a way to stop the leak with the tank in situ.

JB Weld lasts about 10 mins, the vibration gets to it quickly, that's what I tried the first time it happened to me.

Oil tank out, beef up the front and rear mountings from 1/4" to 5/16", remove/grind off the bottom mounting and weld a plate over it and then mount on a rubber pad.
