For our national day, here's a few of the best Australia Day lamb adverts - cultural icons they are!

Many Australians do not know their own history. Sydney was named after British politician Tommy Townshend (Lord Sydney). He and Pitt got their own Doctor to the mad King George the Third, when the War of Independence was happening in America. They kept on announcing that the King's condition was improving. So they called the shots. Townshend organised the First Fleet to take convicts to Australia instead of America. He instructed its leader Captain Arthur Phillip to avoid killing the Australian Aborigines. When the First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay, they were met by hostile Aborigines, so they simply moved into Port Jackson where Circular Quay is now. Any Aborigines who were killed, were probably killed much later for eating settlers' animals. But that stuff has become the basis of an armed invasion story.

The problem with lamb chops these days is they are so expensive to buy at the butchers any lamb cuts are, we grew up on lamb was always the cheapest meat to buy (the poor man's meat), how things have changed, at a butchers the other day picking up some ham (for the Men's Shed) and $43 for 1kg of lamb chops, W T F, our country has grown up on the lamb/sheep back.
