Hi all,

Although not a commando problem as such. Just putting some feelers out there to members that are in Syd, Australia. I have my commando apart and am after a reputable sand blaster and powder coater for my frame and parts.

Also, looking at vapour blasting the head and barrels. Any thoughts of places or other things i should be doing while the bike is apart without going overboard is encouraged. Im on the north side.

regards

Ross

I get my parts powder coated at Australian powder coaters in Botany . Dieter is the owner Nice bloke and there is a media blaster not far away depending on where you are in Sydney . Ican get some info if you are interested.

I also give Australian Powder Coaters/APC the thumbs up.I have used Dieter a few times. They do a good job,but the last time I was there he was not doing blasting but had been thinking about putting a big cabinet in.
He tends to be a little bit more expensive but the job is good.
They use a blasting place close by when I last had some parts done.
I have also used Precision Powder Coaters in Seven hills $550 for blasting and coating a frame and other parts.
And for some parts for work I used a place in Marrickville,in Chapel St (Shotblasters) only because they were close.

There is also a blaster/powdercoater at Brookvale that might be closer for you,I have not used them but a friend has and seemed happy with the work done.
I have my own blasting cabinet so I can do garnet or glass beads on alloy if needed but not big enough to fit a frame in.

Hi Brett & murraycod,

Thanks for the insight. I was looking at the Brookvale place. They seem ok on price and timeframe. I will try there as its a bit closer.

Any ideas of vapour blasting. Need to clean up the head and barrels without damaging the surfaces. Any ideas. Thanks heaps for the info gents.
