I have a 67 Atlas that I'm going to be putting together, I am looking for a top yoke for the bike, I have seen part #06-1132 and also part #03-0028 listed for an Atlas. Would both of these work on a 67? All my parts manuals are in storage at this time. Thanks in advance, Chuck.

67 would be 7 3/8 inch centres yolks, so, these will fit but not the 7 inch centres.

#061132 is unknown to me. The early Commando top yoke might fit, #060335, as this was still made at the old AMC factory. The difference is probably UNF vs. CEI threads for the h/bar clamps. Hovever, to avoid an obscure problem, you should look for the genuine part #030027.

You are probably referring to raw casting numbers. Please don't. The semi-finished blanks could be machined into parts serving different needs, e.g., forks for solo riding vs. pulling a sidecar. #030027 is available from A.N.

Thanks for your help Bernhard and Knut, this helps in my search for the proper part. I'm still learning a bit at a time. Have a great day, Chuck.

Hey guys I just noticed the second number I posted was wrong, I corrected it. It is 03-0028.

I think (think means I am not entirely sure) the only difference in Atlas yokes is that early (1962 to 1964?) were on 7 inch centers, and later were 7 3/8 inch centers.

There was a thread on this Forum recently that queried the fork stops, and it seems from that thread there were at least two versions of stops. This difference in stops might require some difference in the yokes.

Slick

Been researching this PN and this thread came up on WWW search...
FWIW:
06-1132 is a commando part. Primarily, this yolk is the only one that has the mounts that accommodates the halo headlight.
It is for the early commando, for the "S" and the 70 roadster (not "R").
I just bought one...for an early frame/20M3 engine project I have. (and as mentioned early commando type fork stops)

I believe the later, wider, 1964 and later yokes can be told apart from the earlier yokes by the addition of the steering/fork lock.

Perfect Dave, I can now set that one aside and mark it as such. And thanks Bodger, the other one I have has the fork lock. :)

crown 030027(casting 030028) mine uses 5/16 BSF screws on the caps not CEI...?
Same as commando head steady? 19437 ?
