Atlas Engine Install

Just finishing full rebuild of my 66 Atlas engine and wanted to fully assemble it before installing. Is it possible and steps if it is? My engine plates and transmission are still in frame. Really hate installing head with engine in frame. Can be done but very fiddly.

No experience in this????

I am not sure if this is possible.

I have a slimline 650, and have only ever put the engine (without head, but with plates and gearbox) in as a unit.

And then the head on after.

Not sure if anyone here has tried to assemble it complete, but its going to be a bit of a pig to manoeuvre about, and then slot into the pates with the head on.

It was about 10 yrs. ago, but I wiggled my assembled 750 into my Manx frame with the plates in place. The front plates were off, and I think the valve covers were off too. Pretty sure I put the head up between the upper tubes and swung the engine in from the right side. Might have invented some new words referring to deities, mothers, and reproductive processes.
