Ash is in hospital

So things are starting to move compensation wise, we will be reimbursed for our new car and mods around our house and my new leg which the CTP insurance has already paid for as they accepted their client was at fault causing our injuries so when we get together with both Debra and myself with our solicitor and the other CTP insurer to workout how much compensation will be offered and if we accept I be also putting on "plus expenses" to, so it don't all come out of our pocket with the payout, those 2 words added to the claim will save us all the hassles as my leg care will be with me for the rest of my life with my leg makers.
Tariffs/duties on the e-start kit should fall under this category, it actually is a Medical Appurtenance to resume riding.

Big day up at the hospital 9:15 the taxi turned up, 10:30 rehab finished about 11:45 but had 2 hrs to kill before going to orthopedic to get medical certificate, got their early but it wasn't till 3:30 before I got to see the doctor, he asked what I was doing here as last time I was there he said no need to come back, but told him I needed the MC for my solicitor to proceed with our claim, he was good and said, don't come back while having a bit of a laugh, so back to the transit area to come home another 40 min wait for a taxi to take me home.

On the way home a phone call I wasn't going to answer it but I did, lucky I did it was the person who going to modified our car and asked if I could get it to him in the morning Wednesday and he need to have the car for a few days as when he does the modification an engineer has to approve it by our Law but the car be ready Friday morning, if I can't do it tomorrow it be another 2 weeks as he's going on holiday for 2 weeks, so I said it will be there, the thing is its way over the other side of our city and 1/2way down the coast and getting it there in peak hour, then we have to find a way home but lucky train or bus is not far from the workshop, so Friday I have my freedom back :) 🍻.

So things are starting to move forward for us, but have to cancel rehab Friday, what a shame ;)🤣

Just got a text message from the mod workshop and the car is ready to be picked up was a quick turnaround but I had arranged my youngest daughter to take us down tomorrow Friday so I text her to see if she was free today but she is working today, as well I canceled Fridays rehab, so phoned Andy up to ask if OK to still pick the car up Friday, all good by him, didn't feel like catching 2 buses then walking to the place from the bus stop which took us a few hours busing it home yesterday where only a 40 minute drive in the car from door to door.

So a day off for us so I be up in the shed working on my train layout today as I planned, I am expanding my lay out and running more track work, it's a slow process laying and bending flex track and connecting it all, but I enjoy doing it, keeps me busy and keeps me sane and I am out of Debra's hair, we been stuck at home to long and we been at each other the last week or so, not good for both of us, but I am sure now once I am driving again I can get out and about again and have that break from each other, although she is a good woman, we are so different to each other, but that is why we stuck it out together for so long, she puts up with me and I am not a easy person to live with as I like doing things my way and Debra has her ways of doing things but she is no good at muti tasking although she thinks she is and she takes too long to do simple things and always do it the hard way, isn't marriage great, but sometime I wonder if I will get paroled soon, 35+ years together and each year the parole get rejected, looks like I am a lifer lol.

At the moment I am getting back into my trains but the bike is in my head, getting the car done so I can drive was on top of what is needed, the trains are keeping me sane, but once I settle down with driving again I am sure the ES installation won't be far off, I been so busy with rehab learning to walk again, and I am doing pretty good, and now the next stage with driving again but with all the B S I have to go through to get back on the road again and then I have to go through all the B S again before I can take the bike out again, proving to others I can do it although they can't take my licenses off me, so over all the B S I got to go through, but there is big money at stake in compensation pay out, so over it all, I just want to get back to my normal life again and money can't do that for me, I liked my simple life and ways.

Things were starting to get me down a bit, more frustration than anything, but I always said from the beginning that this year is recovery year, and we will start fresh next year, but lucky getting my new leg so quick and walking sooner than the way it could have gone as without the CTP insurer coming on board things are moving a lot quicker than it could have as going through normal health system I be waiting 12 months or more for a new leg and not have the best beg, so am grateful for that.

Jeez Ash - things to do, things to do.
You're busier than a one-legged man in a bum kicking contest! (I only just realised how apt that saying is. )
Cheers

Getting back with life is the best recovery medicine and keeping busy takes my mind off in how thing could have gone a lot worst, going up to the hospital for rehab opens my eyes that there are people worst off more than myself and Debra and we are still breathing and slowly getting on with our lives, I might be over stating things here but writing about it has helped me to get over the worst and the friendships that I have made here as well, I will get up your way soon Rob and cracking a few beers together is something I look forward too.
