Ash is in hospital

Well what a day yesterday i had, a mate who just got back from Thailand the day before came to visit use around 10am he also bought a 6 pack of Jim Beans with him so we cracked a can or 2 in the room, the nurses were ok with that but the cleaner came in and started to carry on " you can't do that here i going to report you" lucky my daughter was here and was leaving so she took the empties with her so we got rid of the everdience lol and then i had to go to gym.
At gym my 2 trainers weren't there and was told no step climbing or cruches workout today, so what was the use me going there so i decided to go back to my mate who was still in the room waiting, so i had to go down the road to the postoffice to pick up a parcel so off we went, got the parcel but be side the PO was a bottle shop so i brought a 10 pack of Jim Beans and cola we had one each at the bus stop went across the road for fish and chip and 2 more cans of JB with our feed then a walk to the beach front to drink the rest of the JBs.
By this time the shit had hit the fan about having 2 drinks in the room, didn't worry me too much as i was having a good afternoon with my mate, no one told me we weren't allowed to have alc drinks in the room, but after 7 cans of JB later i was in a good mood before heading back, was a great afternoon, what was the big deal having a few drinks, only takes one person who had a problem with it and this morning everyone is talking about it, so fu cking what i say.
This morning a mate phoned me up at 5am and asked if i wanted to go for a walk along the beach front so met him down stairs and off we went, me in my chair and Brian doing the pushing, out for a hour or more and back before brekkie, what a lovely way to start the day.
Well i am still the talk of the floor after yesterday affort, but was great to get out from the funny farm for a few hours, only problem could have downed a few more JBs, just got the tastes for them lol.

Ahhh. That explains why no posts for a bit. You were on a wee bit of a tear and surely the pretty nurses will understand a powerful thirst

My father was laid up in the hospital getting some stainless steel drywall screws put in his back, and he was pretty miserable, as he'd been carted in there immobile, in terrible pain. He had a Yorkie that he loved so much. His room was on the ground floor and had cantilever windows with no screens (odd for a hospital!), which opened to a fairly secluded and easily accessible area. I brought little 'Pooh' there and passed the pooch through the window to him. Made his day. A nurse came in, he was busted. She scolded him, but gave him an hour, hush-hush. She was really nice to allow that. JB's might have worked too.

Never mind the beers, do any of your mates have a large panel van?

Load up your bike and a bunch of tools, and pull into the hospital parking lot, roll you over and get to work setting it straight again.

I'll bet if we all use our heads, we can set you up with a sidecar to mount up... In fact, I'll chip in the seed money. Count it done.

The Triumph is gone, the Norton is a goer and no need to be worked on, as for a side car no way, i built it for throwing it into the tight twisties up in the ranges, it has never let me down in the 50 years of ownership, well only 3 times it didn't make it home on its own, one broķen chain, one failed EI black box, and the last time it threw a chain jouining link, not bad for near 50 years of being on the road.
But i be riding it soon no matter what the way it is, a fu cking side car, no way not on a Norton.

I wasn't trying to rattle your cage. I lent my sidecar to a buddy that had his second ribcage-splitting, total open heart surgery, and his doctors said "no more 2 wheelers". Well, they didn't say anything about THREE-wheelers! hee hee

Sadly he passed, but only after living a VERY well-spent life, racing for the famous "Big D" cycles, Triumph dealer in Dallas, Texas, in the 50s & 60s. He is the one historically blamed for getting the Triumph Slick Shift banned from AMA racing, because HD could not beat him with the guaranteed holeshot.

Anyway, he put the sidecar and lights on his old Triumph flat tracker and "rode on" for 3 extra years! I just got it back last month, and installed it on a '97 Thunderbird 900 triple.

This was EARLY in his racing career!
