Ash is in hospital

Keep up the great work, Ash and all the best for Debra. Looking forward to the first ride report once you get back at it! Looking at getting some rollers to help start the Featherbed?

Had a good afternoon was eating my night meal and my oldest daughter phoned 1/2 way through my meal saying they just pull up and had Millie my dog with them so ate my dinner and desert real quick (tea time is 5 pm on the dot) so i finshed and asked the nurses if i could go down stairs so i could see my dog, all good and i waited near the sea wall and seen them walking up the path towards me i was so excited to see her.
Poor Millie she getting old slightly deaf and tiring out easy, she sort of not sure who i was there but she is over 15 years old and a bit confused but still good to see her.
As i was there with them my youngest daughter turned up, was great seeing my 2 girls talking to each other again, they been not so good with each other for a few years but am happy they are on good terms again, its taken a accident to get every one together again.
They took her for a slash in the salt water before i caught up with them.

Keep at it mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Well nothing to report today just a boring Sunday here in sweet Brighton, just finished my lunch and having a nice cup of tea, not to many inmates out and about and the wind coming off the bay with rain so no venture out on the bacony today a very overcast day.
Just been laying in bed watching uTube, though a mate or 2 would come down to visit maybe later nothing happens much on Sundays here.
I think my poor old Millie might be suffering a bit of doggie dementure as she seems to be in the lost world, what a time to get old and i am not with her, made me upset last night when i saw her, she has slowed right down and seem to be lost and struggling to walk short distants, making me a bit upset just writing this and nothing i can do about it, but she had a good life with us, she was so loyal to me and my family.
Anyway hope she still with us when i get out of here, sorry the tap has turned on and the tears are flowing.
I just want to get home.

Where I once worked we used to make nitroglycerine by the batch process - I did not enter the nitration house unless it was necessary. To me, riding a motorcycle on public roads is similar, when there are cars or trucks behind me. I am 83 - too old to be killed by a moron's negligence. I would ride on a race circuit at any time and really look forward to doing it. I never start my motorcycle at home. I have an illness - as soon as the motor starts, I am psychologically compelled to ride the motorcycle. It is a really bad vice. Have you ever thought what it would be like to be instantaneously vaporised ? I used to think about that. My Ex never knew what I did for a living. I am remarried, my wife said she would never have let me work there. Unless women are told, they do not know. She has put the kybosh on my racing - she was standing with my mate the last time I raced - he should have reassured her - worried for no reason. Racing looks dangerous from outside the fence, when it is not. Riding on public roads is infinitely more dangerous.

The only time motorcycle road racing is really dangerous, is the first time anyone tries to do it. They have not lost their ego by crashing, and are still deluded. I have crashed about 5 times during road races. There was only one crash in which I genuinely believe that I could have been killed. It was caused by another rider's stupidity. He knows it, and so do I. It is pure dumb luck that I am still alive. I had a motorcycle licence at age 18, a car licence at age 21. I rode motorcycles on public roads until age 29, then went racing. I had ridden motorcycles on race tracks several times prior to actually racing, and most of my motorcycles had been hotted-up 650 Triumphs. I still managed to chuck my 500cc Triton up the road at about 90 MPH, the first time I raced. This photo was taken about 2 seconds prior to a very big crash when the front brake grabbed :

Al, do you realise how tone-deaf your posts are, given the intent of the thread?
For christ's sake go elsewhere and reminisce!!

Here we go again Al we have heard it all before motorcycling is dangerous but its what we enjoy, the life style, the friendships, the dangers and anything we do in life can be dangerous, how many people get killed at no fault of their own just minding their own business, we live in a dangerous world, just slipping over and bang your head can kill you, its the risks of life, motorcycle, cars, trucks, trains, planes just to name a few, motorcycles are the same.
Riding with your mates not thinking of any dangers that can kill us, doing the things we love doing best, having a serous accident hasn't put me off at all and will get back on the road again, maybe not this year but then you never know.
So Al stop thinking about the dangers, get on with life and ride, if my wife told me the bikes or her, she know if she said that her bags be packed and out the door quick smart, but she is smart as she would never ask me to give up my bikes, she knows me too well.
Racing around a track once or twice a year going around in cicles no thanks thats not motorcycling to me, riding when i feel like and the freedom with your mates or anytime is what motorcycling is all about, getting asked if this be the last time i be on a bike, like fu ck no as soon as i am able to be straight on the Norton, losing a leg/foot, no just a flesh wound, i be back, look danger in the face and fight your fears and enjoy life.
So Al stop tell me or everyone else the danger of riding on the roads, at lease we are enjoying what we love best, instead of what it use to be like watching too much youtube and telling us how good your bike is that its been so long since you ridden it no thanks i am a rider not a talker or how good it was from merories of days gone by thats not for me.
So Al please no more as really you are living a shelted life just talking about it and telling everyone how dangerous it is on the road, danger is everywhere, just live and enoy what we love to do and not think about the risk or dangers.

Al you are not dumb enough to not know this post is about Ash and what he's going through !
Why on earth would you try and make it about yourself, your career, your racing and your opinions it has zero relevance here
I find it extremely disrespectful

"She has put the kybosh on my racing "

What about off-road, dual sport? Some gentle dirt roads on a tiddler of a bike surely wouldn't be so dangerous Al.... will she give you permission for that?
