My 206XXX has superblends, but also gouges from a broken rod, +20 pistons and -30 shells showing at least one more likely 2 rebuilds. So I would not assume it has superblends from new but may have them from a rebuild or dealer fit.

6/MRJA30 or FAG NJ306E (unlikely to be original) 'Superblends'?
NU306E FAG Germany so unlikely to be originals, plus the factory despatch date is Sept 72 which means it was held back for some reason as its out of sequence with other 206's build despatch dates which were earlier. The cases have no coverplate over the distributor hole and the machining at the back of the cases is the later type to fix the cracking at the engine mounts as detailed at Atlantic Green.

Note how large the red outlines area is and compare to the later cases (below) to see how much less had been cut. The green line above the rear engine mount is where a typical crack might propagate. This style of finish machining stopped in the 206xxx to 208xxx sn region.

According to Norton Service release N.2/9, August '72, the (original) R&M/RHP 6/MRJA30 bearing known as 'Superblend' was fitted from serial 211891. The Combat series, however, ended at 211110.

You can read the 'Superblend' story here:
Thanks for sending this LAB! This, I'm sure, will answer a question or two of mine.

Good point! Clearly, I'm overthinking the heck out of this issue with my bike. When it arrives this weekend, I just need to enjoy it for what it is and get myself ready to ride it!

Hey, anybody know where I can get a copy of NORTON 750 COMMANDO RIDERS MANUAL #062864?
I've searched eBay, amazon, and Andover-Norton and no luck.

Guys, my bike arrived today! What a beautiful thing! It's sitting in my office where I can stare at it and fiddle with my initial investigations on what it has and what it needs. Great fun to be had in the next few days for sure!

Perfect! Thanks for the links. I'll be devouring these books as I fiddle with the Commando.
