A dental pratice in Scarborough has had to close down because they cannot find any qualified dental technicians.
There are one or two other places in GB in the same boat.
Anybody available?

I suspect lots with the training here , very popular course at the local Community Colleges .... they work very hard and here Dentists don’t like to share , so wages for their techs is kept low with turnover , always a new one cleaning/scaling every 3 months when I visit , my recently retired Dentist was in fact from the UK , a good guy , since he left the steady stream of techs started ....

It used to be that somebody was a dentist and worked alone or had a "girl" at the front desk to line up the appointments. Now the dentist is the fellow that owns the business and has all parts of the practise done by people working for him. How many dentists now work for themselves?

My dentist has three tech girls and two office. All have been with him for years. He keeps four chairs busy. Techs do cleanings and assist him. The days of a dentist working by himself are long over. Cleanings and X-rays are insurance covered generally.
