Last of the 'On any Sunday' trio. McQueen, Smith and now Lawwill.
Of course he's much more than the movie.
It's just that movie had a profound affect on a young MichaelB.

Mert Lawwill has passed, aged 85. The soft-spoken racer of “On Any Sunday”was much more than a Grand National Champ and motorcycle racer.

There will be a celebration of life here in Southern California on Saturday, August 29 at the Carson Convention Center. I'll be going with my son. Kenny Roberts, Wayne Rainey, and others will be speakers, and there will be a “Mert Lawwill Vintage Dirt Track Concours”
