amal carb question what is a full turn? YES IM Stupid!!

OK someone please clear this up for me? When adjusting Amal screws what is a full turn? is it from one side of flat head to the next or is it actually one full 360 degree rotation of screw driver. OK IM AN IDIOT VERY STUPID JUST INDULDGE ME PLZ

Wow MN... I have family in delano.. I'm originally from St. Cloud now I'm in tucson (dry heat is just as unbearable for me as the humidity don't believe the hype). Many little problems but for now fouling plugs dry not wet looking, and the usual dealing with leaks popping up.. Hey thank you for the response starting thinking the question was too dumb for a response, I over think things not in a good way I see. Thanks Again
 
Jeremy, you seem to come off as being kinda rude. You might tone it down a notch.

One turn out = full 360' rotation, so in mind pick a edge of the slot and watch it go all the way around once. 1.5 turn is what Amal designed spray tubes, venturi and jets and needles as their base line float level fueling supply. 1.5 turns out best idle is adjusted for by float level via tapping a nail on the float needle base. Lets just get on our bikes and ride, once spending enough of everything on them of course.

Nice. Thanks its crystal clear to me now and forever.. Oh and not yelling, just not a mechanic but I would like to be proficient?? It just sucks when you ask a dumb question and get called out on it (someone says get a manual that I have and read from time to time). :) Thanks again
 
You don't have to be a mechanic, but it helps if you are going to mess with machinery. It's never too late to learn and you might like it.

Fouled and dry plugs ? Too much fuel. Carb leaks ? Too much fuel. Adjustment probably won't help.

Have the carbs been cleaned and rebuilt recently ? New mufflers ? How does the bike run ? What kind of mileage are you getting ? 35 mpg is about the minimum, 50 is about the max. In either case, the plugs should be running between tan and light brown.

As a mechanic, shadetree or professional, I've always tried to adhere to it. Get help from a friend (who YOU'RE SURE is skilled), take a course, something to help. It's not magic, but it helps to not dig a deeper ($!$!$!$) hole for yourself as you go. Ask away, help is at hand.
