Airbox sidecover mounting

I have no idea why the current MK3 only bracket AN sells has two sets of holes but the bracket was not available separately from the air box originally. The second set of holes possibly allows for an alternative fixing point if the original air box holes were damaged but then the originals would have to be blocked/covered as they are on the carb side of the air filter.
As far as I can tell the lower holes are correct. Nothing to do with the Mk1A/Mk2A as possm has mentioned.

Thank you possm and LAB.

Apparently the factory lowered drillings in the air box to get away from the curved corner at the upper rivet, which gives less restraint for the rivet. From tracing marks left by the old bracket (discovered today) i needed to use the upper holes, so apparently I have an early Mk3 air box.
Improving restraint by preventing the deformed rivet shaft to shear through the soft plastic material, I use ø5 mm stainless washers on the inside. Rivets are 4.8x13 mm, see picture.
