About wideline serial numbers

Hi.
Please, I cannot recognize a wideline frame with strange numbers.
They seem to be: R (or P ??) 480349!.
Frame still has the policromaric blu colour like Manxman.

Wasn't the Manxman a slimline frame?
Norton had year prefixes of P and R for 1959/60 respectively...

Without seeing a photo, I believe the frame is for a late 1959 ES2 single as the code for this model is 4. P or R are codes for 1959 and 1960 as previously stated.
80349 is the frame number.

I agree on '59 ES2.
If it was for a single the inside face of the top right frame tube will be flattened in - to allow access to the rocker cover - and wideline is correct for that year.
Mine is a 1960 model, it still has some blue on it from its first life as an RAC service vehicle.
