When I stowed my Norton many years ago I had only begun to scratch the surface of owning/riding/maintaining a bike I had always admired. Anyway to tuck it up a might I've been here around perhaps near 3 weeks and find that the Brit bike industry is shockingly thriving. The experimentation, innovation, and improvement I see being implemented by riders and surviving manufacturers of parts, etc. is astounding to someone who only had a slight suspicion by word of mouth that small numbers of parts had again become available.
I knew folks still had them, but had no clue as to the vast number, and rode regularly. I've seen one Norton in my area and that was 20 years past, and perhaps two newer production Trumpets....That's it. I've an old friend that collects though no longer rides... Velo, Matchless, old open primary Guzzi, Duc's. It seems like Sou. Tx. is all HD & Nippon.
So I wish to thank the old gods & the new for this place of enlightenment because in my short time it & you fellows have given me hope as well as a bit of help, but...….it's costing me money because I now want my Norton to look like yours....Heh heh.

Not in Laredo. I own all 3 Nortons that can be found here, as well as the only Triton, 98% of the classic Triumphs & BSAs, and 1 of fewer than 10 modern Triumphs.

Where are you in SoTx?

Across the bay from Corpus Christi a distance of 20 tacos or so.

Ah, so. We frequent Port Aransas (60 years so far), and I was stationed at NASCC from 76-79, so I know the area. We could meet in Alice sometime...

Perhaps so. I get a few more teething bugs worked out I may do the Nort for the cruise. Got to get the rubber on the back first. Can't find my spoons....Almost 40 years and everything gets lost.
Query: Do Interstate seats ever feel right?

do you mean in relation to footpeg position? comfort over hrs or long runs?

Over the years my Roadster seat became so uncomfortable , I got a Corbin , they say not for every one but works for me , so put one on the Griso as well ....

waaaaay more focused commando classic action in that forum also

Width. Maybe just takes getting used to. Could be my spine is just locked into my Goldwing riding posture. Sure it's me & my whining.

I still see “king and queen” seats around on Nortons .... not for everyone ...

Me either.I'll become accustomed to this one & whine when it's gone crying it was the best ever. you know how it works.

not a yuuge deal to come up with something custom to suit

A world of wonder...

some vetter fairings, haven't seen vetter bags yet,

rear frame loop is a bit weak for xtra loads but easy fixes out there

Yup that looks like a K&Q seat ... no doubt it comfortable but kinda ugly , similar appearance to the Russel Day Long seats ....

more like a mini k&q vs sofas you see on wings,

prob seen 2-3 so far on nortons, maybe a half dozen vetters

That looks like the seat on my old wing. Fall asleep riding with those. Like the homemade roadster seat. That looks homey.

One just like that seat came on a Norton that I bought around 1990. Comfortable as all get out but such bad ugly lines. I just couldn't stand to be seen on it. It was a conundrum like dating an ugly girl that loved sex.

Not into top boxes .... several years ago got a set of Dry Spec bags from Twisted Throttle , they will hold all I need for cross country ride or just use small one for a week around Cabot Trail ... attach to just about any bike ... have proved very durable ....
