I'm not sure if my grand daughter is happy or sad sitting on Pop's Commando.....

A Norton Girl

looks like she's wanting Grandpa to site infront of her and give her someone to hold onto,

the first time i took my youngest for a ride she came back with eyes as wide as saucerplates,

I can already see 20 years from now, she will be writing a Norton forum thread like.....

Hi, my grandda just gave me his Norton Commando for my 21st Birthday.
What kind of oil should I put in the primary.

She will recieve dozens of responses from forum members, all suggesting completely different types of lubricants.

Some things never change.

Or she might say...."the guys on the forum are being mean because you put that silly Mikuni carb on there, and are running fully synthetic oil"

Hopefully, her Grandpa will teach her well, get her interested at her own speed and not scare her off, and then -

20 years from now she'll be on a Norton forum answering some poor guy's request with an intelligent and correct response. Now wouldn't that be nice an a true and worthy legacy. And damn attractive to boot.

"Pop", she may be in flux at the moment but take it slow and easy and hopefully she'll grow to love the bike and if the world is lucky we'll end up with another female motorcycle enthusiast who has a soft spot for Nortons because her great "Pops" provided her with a good introduction to bikes. The world could only become a better place for that and it is all within your grasp. Teach that beautiful little girl to love, understand and respect motorcycles (especially Nortons) and we will all be very happy.

Unfortunately my Son in Law is not an enthusiast of cycles and my granddaughters probably won't get to ride until they decide (as adults) that's it's something they want to do. However, when my number is called they will own a shop full of Brit iron if they so decide. I'll leave starting and maintenance instructions on each bike so they won't be in the dark.

I like that response.

Classy.

I had a picture of my old tabby cat sat on the tank, he found the high vantage point good for spotting mice, i though he may get to ride the bike...but alas he scarpered off with next doors moggy....on a Du-cati  ..well it amused me  and there's not much of interest on the site at the moment. Joke's well received .
