Id disconnect oil return , clean tank , refill & run ( ensureing oil tank stays half full 0 untill its expungeing CLEAN oil from the return hose , before reconecting .
A STROBE LIGHT will alow you to check the ADVANCE Vs R.P.M.s , as well as Timing .
Exactitude setting valve clearances , One Valve Fully Depressed , Then Rotate crank 360 degrees . ( we leave the plugs out till last - On Center Stand or Beer Crate -
and ' bump ' the rear wheel ( by Hand ) to position cylinders :? Er PISTONS / Crank EXACTLY ) If the DRAG on the Feeler Guage - no cheap Jap ones

is exactly
the same on Ea Piston ( Er Valve Adjuster 0 the clearance is the same . One would think . V. Light Drag - experiment on adjuster Vs Drag to find ' Free ' .
Noteing the inlets and Exhausts are Differant clearances of course . So Set In. as pair & Ex as pair . And check the Ex Pipe Nuts , Then HOT imediately after the test ride,
before lockwireing or tabbing , if you do .
Youre also expected to see its clean and polished , before delivery to the customer .

IF it needs CLEANING , do it BEFORE seviceing . So gritt & gook DONT get INTERNAL .
