Hey all,
Maybe this should go in the WTB section but I am looking for a set of stock 850 (or 750) exhaust pipes.
You guys know if 750 and 850 pipes are interchangable? Exhaust nuts the same thread?
Ideally I would like to have the pipes with the crossover pipe (it is a 1973 850 Roadster) but I would be more than happy with just standard pipes.
This one is going to be my rider so I am not too concerned with show quality chrome....a few nicks, light rust, and dents will not bother me at all...

Lemme know if you guys have an old set lying around you would be willing to part with.
Thanks!

Well,

I do have a pair of balanced downpipes, but without the balace pipe itself. They're still all wrapped up and hanging from the rafters if you're interested...Postage from GB may be a bit of a no-no though.
I elected to fit unbalanced pipes because they're less likely to strip the exhaust port threads as the the collars screw in further - they don't need the split collars behind the pipe flange which are needed for the balanced pipes.

If your threads are good be sure to keep them that way.I have repaired hundreds of exhaust ports over the years,a lot of 850s with the balance pipe. The split collars take away more thread. I recommend standard header pipes with the norvil bronze nuts. They stay tight.I don't know how to post pics so just e mail me and I can show you how they look.

I have a brand new set of these pipes I'd sell. I put them on and ran the engine for 5 minutes with beancans, then went back to my old 2 into 1 exhaust, because I didn't want to part with the cash to buy Peashooters. I don't know what shipping would be to where you are, but if youre willing to pay it I'd sell them.

edit--- these are them: http://commandospecialties.com/Prod_Det ... ProdID=144

Hey Ben,
Any blueing happen when you ran those pipes  ....not that I really care (I personally think blue pipes signify the bike is not a "garage queen").

How much ya askin for your slightly used pipes? I am about an hour from Kansas City. PM me and let me know how much to Zip 66439....
