Hew started this thread and I have no objection to him moderating it.

Besides, it occurred to me that he might wear the same tartan as the seller and if I upset them, they'll set Mel Gibson on me :)

I am also Scottish and can confirm that these sorts of minor dissagreements only come to court after they have already been sorted out in a public car park with broken bottles at five paces.
Don't worry 79 (I hope you will allow me the privilege of addressing you by your first name) I can give you political asylum in Hong Kong where we can take the piss in relative safety.

My leg is getting rather sore here....all that pulling and such....

Promise not to pull back too much. If idiots who buy coffee can sue the seller because it was hot, or if someone can sue because no one told them not to they put the cruise control on and walk back to the rear of the mobile home to make coffee, then almost anything is able to be sued for, nevermind something that actually is a legitimate complaint.....just can't see letting some bozo get the jump on me because I was unwise.....more often than already happens....

ps...Proof in point.....There I go again....saying something that turns out to be misinformed....in the coarse of researching these two mentioned cases...I ran into these links, which show...we often only know what we hear on the news, and often it is incorrect or not Paul Harveys' "rest of the news"...

I note that the bike that none of us have seen and to which none of us knew we were referring was unsold at around £1950

Personally, I don't think it was worth any more than that. Wonder if he'll try again or just live off his winnings from defamation litigation from now on

I no doubt will see it again in Falkirk at the next Scottish Autojumble, I will have a closer look at the crankcases around the tacho. I will also take my lawyer along too
