'73 750cc Commando Black Barrels?

I know this is like an "oil" topic. My, new to me, bike was supposedly restored/rebuilt about 20+ yrs ago. It was previously sold as a Combat ....it clearly is not! Mechanically it is not and the VIN (22160x) also indicates such.
The scruffy silver painted barrels are currently off the bike and I simply cannot decide to keep them silver or paint them black!
As I understand, the 750cc Combat was black... others were silver (aluminium)
I'll accept the vote from you all as to what I should do!

Clearly not correct for 1973 which this bike is (750 MkV).

Yeah who gives a fu ck paint them whatever colour you want, it's not going to make any difference to whether the status or collector unless you want it concourse condition in which they only go to shows on a trailer and never ridden, black barrel seem to break up the gap from the bottom of the motor to the top of the motor and it looks better to my eyes.
It's the thing a lot never want to change things and are happy to ride a classic bike with 50+ years of parts that are old and worn out to spending money on some of the best upgrade that are made for our old bikes to perform their best that wasn't around 50 years ago.
So just do it the way you want and what's best for your eyes, don't worry about what others think, its your bike, not ours and just enjoy it.

OFF TOPIC... it's so easy!
BTW, I'm not looking for 100% authenticity but are bar end mirrors (my preference) round or rectangular? ... or is it down to personal choice (I have some polished Al round bar ends in my bits box)

P.S. I'll "Paint It Black"... just the Like The Stones 👍 ....my era! Dad's BSA's etc.

P.P.S. I asked my dear 90 year old mum in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 if Dad took her & me to hospital on the bike to be born... apparently he paid up for a taxi! 🇬🇧 😀.... His BSA sidecar outfit had "clip-ons: !

Previous owner bought it at MECUM... never ridden and can't get history from the previous, previous owner/collector... even though I know the name... basically said FOff... He is a " Big Collector" ... and frequently at MECUM in Vegas!
Bike is stripped down to bottom end, just hope I can rebuild and get that left cylinder firing... gaskets etc were horrible! Just lapped all valves, bores are good, pistons a tiny bit small but decided to go with a Std Hepolite ring set....worst case the theoretical gap could be 5, maybe 6 thou? (It's on the edge but....)
