"The workship manual gives spec.s for the i.d.s of the various bushes and of the rolling element bearings but not for the corresponding diameters on the shafts..."

In 2008, a member started a thread asking for tolerances of the layshaft and mainshaft he had measured, with two images of the shafts with the dimensions of the location where each gear rotated;
for the mainshaft, "You will notice that two areas that are free from wear (as no bushing/gear runs on these areas) are the original diameter at 0.8100."
and asked, "What is the 'as new' diameter?"

Evening all. I'm creating a new post for this question. I have a question about what the tolerances (and acceptable worn diameters) are on the mainshaft and layshaft where the various gears rotate. For the layshaft I don't have a lot of concern but would like to know what the 'as new'...
