64 Atlas tranny has an amazing amount of back and forth play about 30 degrees from its twelve o’clock position, sound like a problem to you?

64 Atlas tranny build has amazing amount of back and forth play what I call slop, is this going to be problem you guys think?
 
Of course. There will be extreme torque pulses which will destroy your transmission, clutch and primary drive. Was the clutch assembled without cush drive rubbers?

Can you tell me where you are gaging the back and forth play from? Countershaft/drive sprocket?
