I think I remember reading a article on this bike with the owner/builder in some Brit bike magazine. Looked nicely done but I don't get the 183 total miles, soulded to me the guy was building it because he wanted to ride it. If it was fun to ride I'de have 183 miles on it Friday night getting ready for a Saturday morning ride with the guy's, & gal... I don't understand the people who build really cool stuff and sell it. I would want to keep it all. It's like Jean, sellig that stunning little green cafe job. I could never let it go...

Haven't sold it yet, there are a few things I need to fix (next winter) that I don't feel comfortable with. I would keep it if it was easier to start and not so hard on my old back. I built it for myself with a fantasy that I could ride a bike with clip ons, but reality got the better of me :wink: I do get a lot of enjoyment out of building a bike, more so than riding it. Years ago, you could go on just about any road and let it rip, take it to the red line in every gear, challenge anything at a red light in an improptu drag race, now with so many cops around and the prospect of getting grounded are so real, it's not fun anymore so I would rather leave that to the carefree which will leave me with years of building.

It's a nice bike, but this price is way over the top. I think it's a case of trying to get a premium because the bike was featured in a magazine. You can buy a truck full of good Commandos for that money, or an Egli Vincent, or a Commando and a Gold Star and a Triumph Bonneville. I'll be surprised if this sells.

Yes i have that on my ebay watched list, 35k for a Commando ? Ok if it was equiped with the Lansdowne Dampers...now it would be worth it :lol:
It's a sad fact but unless there's some racing heritage, modifications don't really add value unless they're pretty jaw dropping and this really isn't in that category.
Especially true with Commando's which aren't exactly thin on the ground.
Heavy modifications like this are a very personal journey.
If I was ever to sell mine (God forbid) I'd put it back to near standard trim.
