Tonight at 6pm I will be looking at and negotiating the purchase of a 1974 Commando 850. A former co-worker purchased 2 commandos. 1 running and one mostly complete but not running. He has decided to sell me the non runner. It comes with a nice set of burghundy tins. We'll see if the stars align. Pictures to follow tonight.
If I get it I am going to put all my Dunstall pieces on it. After I get my Combat done. I missed out on the MKIII, the guy cannot be reached and is not returning my calls. I'm sure I can get this one.

Fwiw, I'm trying to trim down to my [hopefully almost finished] '73 850 and the parts I need to someday put my featherbed frame to use. My wife would kill me if I even THOUGHT about buying another bike!

They get over it.
You just gotta use your charm!

Not when I've been delaying another kid due to not feeling financially ready!

Re: 1974 850 Commando, #3 on the way.

We've got 6 kids (4 girls & 2 boys--9 yrs. old down to 18 mo.) and you're never financially ready, the 18 mo. old boy just finished running around the house screaming about something or other and is on my shoulder as i write this. So I say forget the money and make the baby....&...well ....try and get the bike too, if not there will be other bikes to wrench and ride. Cj

Get the kids done and out of the way and then you can concentrate on the bikes.

Yeah I remember when my kids(2 girls) were young. I felt like I never had 2 bob to rub together. But in the last month they have both moved out and are now doing their own thing. It's a strange feeling at first. All of a sudden you and your wife are alone. You feel a bit like you did before you had kids... only older. :(
Make the most of those kids while they are young. They grow up fast.

Picked it up tonight. It's a little rough, but all there. I have a really nice Burghandy and silver tank and sidecover set to sell now. Along with a seat, NOD inner primary, new lucas rotor and stator and a bunch of little bits. I'll get some pictures up soon.

Any chance you have a spare steel shifter?

Some pictures. It was getting late, dark and I needed to unload it and get home. I'll get some better ones next week.

Jeeze! Yeah sorry about that KSU.
Got a bit soppy for some reason.
Apologies to Bwolfie too. Nice score!
I never cease to be amazed by the bikes you Americans are able to turn up.
I am trully jealous.
