Looks like fiberglass. I would at least inquire as to if it was made with ethanol-resistant resin.

If you look at the ebay listing and look at the pix and see the rear mount tabs and then look at the pix of the bottom of the tank, it is VERY obvious to me what is it's material of construction.
Metal... probably steel based on the size of the welds.

I messaged them, they will do steel or aluminum. Yes the welds are a giveaway.
I guess my question is has anyone personally bought one of these tanks, seen it, used it? I would like a 68 commando tank, non FG, the one with the disc depressions. This is the first one I have seen on the market.

I have a new steel Fastback tank here - the one with the badge depressions, but I don't know if it came from the same vendor as you referred to. Unfortunately, I've not used it yet, so all I can say is that it seems quite well made, although it is exceedingly heavy!

The Indian seller lists his tank for $310.00 + $95.00 shipping, is yours new and is it in that price range? Do you get it on ebay?
The extra weight won't matter on a powerful Commando!

I've just gone back and checked - I bought mine from a seller called '2x2wheelers' - I went via the 'Make an offer' button, and got it for £140 UK pounds plus £60 UKP postage.

I just looked at that one, it is the tank with the tunnel thru, not just badge depressions, what's yours like?

The tunnel through is a trick of the lighting on the sanding pattern, if you look at all the pictures there is one taken from a different angle that shows they are depressions not a tunnel.

OK, thanks
