‘71 Norton ignition light staying on.

Fired it up again and now indicator is staying on most of the time even though i read 14+ V.


As I said the assimilator light going out only tells you if there's some AC leaving the stator, it doesn't indicate if the system is charging or not or give any indication of DC voltage that's why it's best replaced by something that does.
 
Lesson learned from my experience is you can’t mix old and new. Newer solid state assimilators won’t work with original rectifiers.
