I've never tried thatHi Flatspot
With the T160 I have the left hand on the handlebar, with the bars pulled all the way to the left against the lockstops foot on the centre stand & roll the bike round & it will pop up on the stand. I don't lift!
The lifting handle will help to pull on.
Big tank full of fuel and on a proper Commercial scale-
Converts to 474 lbs.
When the MoT brake efficiency test was introduced some years ago my MoT tester at that time didn't have the expensive roller brake test equipment* so used the alternative hand winch with a pull gauge that required each axle weight to be taken in order to calculate efficiency of each brake.
I remember my Mk3 Roadster certainly didn't weigh close to the "book" figure even allowing for some inaccuracy of the scales that I believe had to be checked for accuracy.
*For our non-UK members who might not know what the UK MoT brake test involves (although 40-year-old 'Historic' tax class vehicles are now mainly exempt from the MoT test}.
Which way Baz ?I tried weighing my Norton with bathroom scales first of all with a wheel chocked the same height as the scales etc
But a mate has a set of race car calibrated scales (it's a set of 4 and I put my Norton on 2 of them )that I borrowed and there was a big descrepency between these and the bathroom scales
It showed lighter on my bathroom scalesWhich way Baz ?
The centre of the stand pivot to the end of the rocker is 10“ and a bit
I can get a T140 stand 83-7532 for a good price if needed.
I've just noticed that the T160 83-1267 and T140 83-4941 stand assemblies use different mounting bolts that I need to take a look at.Good call. I can get the early T140 one for also a good price
What about buying two wheel chocks?Good call. I can get the early T140 one for also a good price
Now, for the first time since I’ve had it, it is now parked on the sidestand and there’s a small puddle of oil under the chaincase. Now to catch22 - I need to get it back upright on the centrestand on the ramp to look at it……..
I’m taking the dog out for the morning and I’ll worry about this later.
