Interesting. I ordered Norton short pipes and the Norton X-pipe from my dealer about 8 weeks ago. I've had the short pipes for about 5 weeks. Still waiting on the X-pipe. Will post pics when it arrives. Hopefully soon!I did receive notice from Norton that design changes were being made to the catless pipe when I was waiting for my shorties. So if the pipe is Motad and the silencers are Norton, there may be a fit problem.
Hello Skiddy , May I ask if the parts fitted are from Norton (Catless X pipe ) ? The part seems to have been made out of specification. Does the hanger bracket line up with the original catted x-pipe from Norton ? This you can check when the 2 parts are laying side by side. Or if the enlarged ends are not long enough etc. If not then send it back. A 10 mm error should be quite visible. Attach a picture for Norton or Frasers to see the error.
I am afraid that now Norton are making the pipes things may have changed. I know the cats have changed in size now so you may be dealing with new versus old.
Just got the shipment tracking number from my dealer. My Norton X-pipe is on its way!Interesting. I ordered Norton short pipes and the Norton X-pipe from my dealer about 8 weeks ago. Fitted it this morning. Definitely sounds better. Not raspy at all - just a deeper, louder rumble sound. Haven't had a chance to go for a ride yet - got a bunch of things I have to get done around the house today.Ooh that looks nice.
Hope you get it fitted ASAP and give us your before / after impressions regarding the effect on power output and sound.
Should certainly make it sound nice!

Which end pipes did you fit?Fitted it this morning. Definitely sounds better. Not raspy at all - just a deeper, louder rumble sound. Haven't had a chance to go for a ride yet - got a bunch of things I have to get done around the house today.
LOL. OK, just got back from a ride. Awesome sound! I don't detect any real power gain, but it feels slightly more responsive above 3500 RPM when accelerating.10/10 for getting it fitted so quickly.
10/10 for the feedback on the sound, it seems they’re definitely the way to go.
0/10 for having life priorities in order.
“Things I have to get done around the house”...
The Norton short open slip-ons. I've had them on the bike for about 5-6 weeks while waiting for the De-Cat pipe. Great combo! (The dealer loaded the 'Aftermarket' map on the ECU before they shipped the bike to me in September).Which end pipes did you fit?

No significant issues. The 'lips' on the De-Cat pipes that push onto the header pipe had to be expanded on one of the two pipes slightly to get it over the header pipe, and I had to push forward pretty hard on the De-Cat pipe toward the header pipe to get the bolt through the center bracket. But really neither was a big issue. Very pleased with how easy replacing the exhaust cans and De-Cat pipe were for me.So there were no fitment issues like skiddy had ?
Rather a slightly tight fit than loose. Sweet looking design. Nice to see the factory got it right. No significant issues. My sport only has 300 mile on it. I've had about six weeks. Drilled out many stock Harley pipes in my day looks like the stock Norton pipe is also drillable. Did you do the work. Want to break it in before I do too many mods but trying to develop a plan.Kiwi961
My Sport has a de-catted and de-baffled stock pipes.
I had them done after the run in period .
There were 2 cats one in each pipe as they are not joined.
Now im running a power commander to control the fueling and couldn't be happier.
cheers
