I love Harleys at least in the states. As mentioned, it partly patriotism. Also, as far as reliability and dealer/factory support as well as aftermarket production, there is not a British vehicle that can come close. Most of my riding buddies have had 10 years of trouble free riding on a HD, and if they did have a problem, you cant spit on Long Island without hitting a Harley dealership. If the developed a problem riding cross country, dealerships would give them a loaner to complete their ride and they would pick it up on their return trip. I DIDNT buy a new HD because that style of riding at the moment didnt appeal to me. I still have a little sport left in me. Didnt want to ride a 900 lb. beast for a 100 mile day trip. That's for the flag waving retired dudes. I really wouldn't go knocking the quality of a Harley until the british could build something better. (notice... I didnt say cooler) Even the Thaiumph dealerships are dropping out in the area.
