I am trying to remember what throttle cable I used on my first commando, but can't remember much of the year 2000. Does anyone know off hand what single throttle cable works with a single amal set up. I ordered Tr6 cable and I it isn't right. Maybe it was a 68-70 tr6. Well if anyone knows please share the info. :)

Thanks,

Tim

If you have a concentric Amal than a cable from an equivalent year Triumph TR-6 will work perfectly; check with Coventry Spares, British Cycle Supply, Kemphs, Rabers, to name a few. If you have the Mk II Amal I have cables in 35, 40 or 45 inch lengths that will work perfectly as well.

RS, I have a 32mm concentric, thanks, I thought tr6 was right just ordered the wrong year I guess, again thanks.

If you have a 1 into 2 cable for the original concentrics, why not use one of the 2 for the single carb. Thats what i used on my 40 mm Lectron carb. I can go right back to the stock set up. because the other cable from the splitter is still there up out of sight.

Your suggestion is a good one, however, the loose cable could back out and jam the active cable; easy enough to remove it from the splitter.

I've done the splitter w/o extra cable route and prefer a clean set up that doesn't pose the issue that RS mentions. I have had issues with the splitter hanging.
