Phantom Oiler, Gary Slabaugh's Combat

I noticed in the side shot that he put about a 4in "riser" or spacer between the Carbs and head. Is this to increase top end performance? Hmmmmmm. Brain gears whirling.

Apparently so as many old push rod racers had extended manifold, I'm told to rise the ram effect of bigger column of mixture. i had a P!! easy as potent with similar specs, so know the joys of being the Quickest object on the road for a few states around. I'm besides myself working up Peel with even better power to weight ratio. Its also tricky even with all the right stuff to dial it in to optimize.

Seems the more potential the set up the more each feature matters and affects something else, but once worked out, OH LA LA, wide range of get go!

Shoot you are living that just with the new sparker. Now my be able to get another boost messing with the carbs. BTW first carb step, besides cleaning the pilot jet is get float level so best idle is 1.5 pilot turns out. This sets base line fuel delivery to fit the Amal charts and advice. Might also file a notch if not already in the spray tubes.
