Hobot, it would be great to see you back on the commando page. Your past advice to me (ride in ever increasing circles until confident in bike) was right on and works with all vintage vehicles.

Quite right.

And its getting awfully dull over there without you Steve.

Please come back and brighten up our lives a little !

Emma Peel: I suppose Mother warned you about women like me?
John Steed: Until now, I didn't know there were women like you.

If the “engine stand” is a genuine Chippendale stool it will be worth more than all the other items in the picture :!:  :D

that switch is for nitrous oxide? I see a Mad Max event coming on here. The rear tire...is that for the hill called the widow maker? are you setting up the Peel to go to orbit? Terminal velocity... hoowheeee.... baby hang on tight.
Cheers,

I like it, good to see someone doing something diffrent, would be great and be a bit scary to be the first to test ride it but that has to be the builder of course (good luck Steve old mate) but doing things diffrently from others is what motorcycling is all about, if you don't try it, you never know, anyway Peel is starting to take shape and looking good, keep it up Steve can't wait to see the end result.

I believe those shocks need to be mounted right side up, reservoir at the top, or they won't function properly. Check Ohlins' site to verify it. That was the best way to destroy the Marzocchis on the late Bonnevilles.

That will also reduce your unsprung weight.
I was referring to the internal functionality, but that's a great point about unsprung weight; at least 10 pounds there...
