Hello - I was handed down a '71 Commando from a generous friend who hadn't kicked it over in years. It's a little rough, but the engine is strong.
I had a shop back home get it running again and I had a blast on it last summer.
Since then it's sat and now I'm in SF.
I'm hoping to get it back on the road and I'd love to gain more mechanical knowledge. (I've never had the teacher/opportunity to learn any of those skills before.)
Would anyone know who I could talk to around the Bay Area? Someone who could either walk me through a carb rebuild, etc or at least a garage I could take it to that could get me up and running the right way?
I rode my other bike down to Alice's Restaurant for the first time a couple weekends ago and I was excited to see the Northern California Norton Club sign!
Thanks!
