This is a similar aluminum and at a great price.

That looks like the same thing I got, only NEW and half as expensive. Nice!

Looks like an EWmgo unit made to look old.

Under $50 new, including shipping.

EMGO does not have the cut(s) off for the frame loop... easy to do for demi-gods in their machine shops... catastrophy waiting to happen for common mortals...worth $20.00 more (don't ask how I know!).

Are you sure?????????????? General rule of thump is never look at similar items once you purchase because you will usually find several examples of you inability to restrain from impulse buying. I know this from decades of experience.

I've been up and down on this purchase--pretty much the standard for me--but I'm OK now.

First I was disappointed to see it wasn't vintage, as mentioned. Then I was OK because it really doesn't matter.

Then I was disappointed to see that OldBritts had it for sale, for about $80, NEW. Then it was mentioned that it hasn't actually been available from them for 2+ years.

You are correct with regard to not looking at similar items, though..I do that far too often. Buyer's remorse sucks. But I'm happy about this one and can't wait to get it. It will look awesome with those signals you guys mentioned.

I'm a big whiner, I know. :p

Don't let anyone tell you they've never had a "DO'H!" moment. We all have.
There's a great deal to be said for parts that need little or no modifying.

I have a lot of "D'OH!" moments. I usually get over them and end up perfectly happy. It just takes longer sometimes. :p

+1 for not having to modify things. I'm not particularly good at building/modifying things (I.E. I'm as mechanically inclined as a grapefruit). Ironically, I'm a computer programmer for a living.. I can visualize things fine when it comes to that, but when it comes to using my hands to physically create something, it just doesn't work. /shrug

OEM Bates tailight housings show up on eBay from time to time for a lot less than the housing from Old Britts

We will be picking up castings at the foundry for our tail lamps today, so after some machining and polishing, we should have them back in stock in a week or so.

Yeeeeaaaah. Been waiting patiently for 2 years now for those. Now I can ditch that aesthetic nightmare of a tail light on the back of my MKIII.

D'oh. :p

At one time I was thinking of this type of tail light:
ebay # 130478770270
next project I guess!
