I continue to struggle with me 1965 N15 battery / tool box. During the 4+ years of production of the N15 what were the changes to the frame and the battery holder? I think maybe that the rear section of the frame has been modified on my 65 as the top of the rear section of the frame is very different from my 67. Also, the pattern battery holder fit the frame of the 67 but does not line up on the 65.Thanks everyone!

CS and CT models differed from standard, but again, I know they are different but what exactly I don't know. As it was not considered a change to the part it was never recorded in a change register. Even the parts books of the day were not that accurate either.

Hats off to anyone restoring a N15 G15, P11 they look very nice when done.

Could you post some pictures of what you have?

This second bike is supposedly a 1965, which should be the same as your N15

The battery tray looks much like mine, but the cut-out of the tool box for the battery is a bit bigger. Can't tell from the pics if this was a factory cut or an owner mod to fit a replacement battery.

Looks to be an early Commando motor - Commando head, early Concentrics, Distributor, Commando Primary.

Concentrics and distributor came on all the 750s from engine number 121007 (mid-year '67 production). Commando heads had the side oil feed due to the different head steady. Atlas, P11, N15, G15, 33 heads were all top oil feed.
Pre-Commando head:

Toolbox and battery tray look original.
