I sometimes wonder why I think very differently to many other people. During WW2, I used to love going to the movies and watching the gun-camera footage of guys being shot-up in airplanes. My father was a soldier, and he once told me the RAAF used to preferentially recruit motorcyclists for pilot training. However he would never allow me to join the Air Training Corps.
When I was 14 I watched Geoff Duke race the Gilera 4, and decided I needed that sort of thing.
I spent a lot of my life in defence factories, working on weapons and aircraft.
I have built about 5 motorcycles with different engines in different frames.
Currently there is a movie about Robert Oppenheimer and the bomb. However I suggest Eric Winkle Brown is much more interesting.
The mindset involved is important - life is about having fun.
