Hello everyone,I had posted here a few years ago with a photo of my Early (1953) Wideline frame
which has the bolt-up rear frame section.
I was at the time wanting to build it as a cafe racer but have since become more interested in building it
as a close-to-original Dominator and I am wanting to know if anyone can provide a photo of the oil tank that
came with this bike or does anyone have the correct oil tank they can offer me for sale, perhaps.
The frame number is 122 47315
Thanks for your help.

Have an 88 at the mockup stage, a 54, so they should be the same.
Features are sort of curved triangular shape, 5 inches wide, clutch cable goes through a tunnel from top to bottom.
2 bolts underneath to bolt to the oil tank platform, and the bracket and breather tube on top.

What you can't see in the pics are the 2 bolts underneath where it bolts to the oil tank platform.
They are exactly 2 inches apart, and 2 inches in from the edge each.
Marked with the 2 (longer) black lines below.
The short line below indicates where the clutch cable tunnel is.
Could get a pic if helpful.

Yell if I can help any, I need to find out much too, and get cracking....

Read my post in the "For Sale" section. I have a Wideline oil tank with a tunnel running through it top to bottom to allow the clutch cable to connect with a pre - AMC gearbox. And a matching battery box. Both are still in the original paint, but A DPO added a 1" wide black accent stripe.

Do you mean a Manx oil tank or a Dominator oil tank ? I have a Manx oil tank somewhere which would need a bit of aluminium welding work.

I don't think those later oil tanks and battery boxes will fit the earlier widelines,
the frame tube gets in the way - for the oil tank at least.

Thats why the earlier oil tank has that triangular shape to it,
the frame curvature must be different ?

The oil tank (with the tunnel) is currently mounted on my 1960 Wideline Model 50 as is the matching battery box. There is no external difference between it and the oil tank that was on the bike when I bought it. Excepting the tunnel, of course.
